Description

Musical light and breakdance show with the stick - Japanese "bo" - a simple object that constantly transforms on stage. It is both protection and weapon, support in vulnerability, play in community, and rhythm in collective sound: the stick BO used in traditional Japanese stick dance. The Brodas Bros company combines traditional rhythms with modern electronic music and dance styles such as hip-hop, breakdance, and street dance in their new show. These styles shaped the company's development. The BO project arose from collaboration between Brodas Bros and the Bastoners de Sant Cugat, one of the most representative groups of Catalan folk culture. Thanks to their connections and shared motivation, the Bastoners de Sant Cugat opened their choreographic material as a basis and inspiration for the new artistic creation with 8 dancers led by Lluc Fruitós. The stick is both a tool and a symbol: an extension of the body, a sound generator, an energy transmitter, and a carrier of cultural tradition - a bridge between generations, regions, and languages, a symbol of cultural continuity and renewal.
