Jacques Brel is a fighter. A seeker. Someone who wants to know and must pass on what he discovers. He is a humanist and defends the authentic in people and community.
The singer and actor Grégoire Gros has translated original interviews, texts, and audio recordings of the Belgian chanson singer Jacques Brel (1929–1978) into German and created a fascinating and poetic concert evening with mostly French and some German sung chansons. He guides us through the evening in an engaging and touching manner as Jacques Brel. The focus is on Brel's chansons, his songs. They act as mirrors of Brel's personality, which Gros so impressively portrays.
