Description

For viewers aged 15 and over. An exciting, dystopian thriller full of unexpected twists based on the novel by Karl Olsberg. Without any memory, 15-year-old Manuel wakes up in an empty, white room. He doesn't know how he got here or who he is. His only connection to the outside world is Alice, a computer-generated voice that connects him to the internet. Gradually, Manuel finds out what must have happened to him: During an attempted kidnapping, he was apparently so badly injured that he will never be able to lead a normal life again. Only with the help of a brain-computer interface is he able to see, hear, speak – but exclusively virtually. Doubts gnaw at him: Why can't he remember anything? Is his supposed father really his father? Will he ever leave the white room again? Driven by the unyielding desire to find out the truth and regain his own identity, he embarks on a dangerous journey through different layers of reality – because nothing is as it seems. The play raises deeply philosophical questions: When is a person a person? What is the self? And what future are we heading towards with the current rapid technological development? "Stephanie Rolser and her team, along with the actors from überzwerg, have created a piece that is fun, at the same time shocking and stirring, raising questions. And above all: captivating. (...)
