A lesson without a lesson
Hair tonic manufacturer Gottlieb Biedermann wants to see the good in people. Enchanted by his own idealism, he grants hospitality to two strangers. Meanwhile, warnings about arsonists abound: disguised as poor peddlers, they settle in the attics of respectable citizens and reduce everything to rubble and ashes. Director Pucher shakes the dust off the somewhat grayish garment with his usual vibrant colors and strong effects. His choir delivers straightforward English instead of whispering, videos amplify crucial effects in gigantic images, bringing the workshop of the arsonists uncomfortably close.
