Description
Since Herschel was a puppy, he grew up with the Mick family. Back then, Luise was still a baby, and Herschel is very old today. He is not feeling well, in pain, and tired. The Mick family must say goodbye with a heavy heart. The farewell to Herschel is only partial because Herschel is still here; he no longer feels pain but lightness and joy. Full of energy, he floats around the Mick family, but they do not see him. Luise senses his presence, and soon the Mick family has a new, invisible family member. Finally, Herschel can vomit on the carpet or take a nap on the sofa undisturbed because ghosts do not shed hair. This children's book humorously, accessibly, and sensitively addresses the death of a family dog. "Herschel, the Ghost Dog" was nominated this year for the Swiss Children's and Youth Book Award. Reading for children aged 5 and up; accompanying persons also need a ticket. Participants and additional information: Thomas Meyer, Magali Franov
