Description
How do we deal with the Nazi past today? The exhibition shows how deeply ideology and appropriation were embedded in art and folk culture – and how much continued to influence after 1945. Documents and objects reveal aspects of Vorarlberg's cultural history that have received little attention so far. A focus is on Nazi items from private ownership, which still appear in households today and raise questions about handling, origin, and significance. “Construction Site Reminder” invites visitors to critically examine these objects and engage in a conversation about a vigilant culture of remembrance. The exhibition “Dispose of Hitler” is a transfer from the House of History Austria.
