Ballet School from La Ciotat - Partnership Visit from France

Description

Cultural highlight in the Stadthalle Singen: Large ballet ensemble from the partner city La Ciotat impresses with German-French dance encounter Singen. The historic town partnership between Singen and the French city La Ciotat is enriched this year with a splendid cultural chapter. A large ensemble from the renowned ballet school in La Ciotat, under the experienced direction of long-time ballet master Nathalie Rosenzweig, is performing again at the Stadthalle Singen and presents the full range of contemporary and classical dance.
After the great success in 2022, this guest performance will again feature an extraordinary German-French cooperation: For selected pieces, the French ensemble will perform to live music by the school orchestra of Hegau-Gymnasium Singen. A very special premiere is also celebrated by the Singen Ballet School "Die Färbe", which is participating for the first time in this high-caliber ballet evening and represents the local dance scene.
The 14 dancers from southern France bring a varied and dynamic program to the stage. The audience can look forward to a stylistic journey from classical ballet through neo-classicism, modern jazz, and hip-hop to cabaret and acrobatics. The ballet school enjoys an excellent reputation in France and is firmly rooted in Singen: Since 1977, its ensembles have regularly performed in the Hohentwiel city and have always celebrated great successes in front of large audiences.
The young talents are accompanied by four adult supervisors and the overall director Nathalie Rosenzweig. She emphasizes the deep connection to Singen: "The always friendly reception, the charming support during the stay, and especially the perfect technical equipment of the Singen Stadthalle, as well as the helpful cooperation with its staff, encourage us again and again to come to Singen with great pleasure."
However, the cultural exchange is not limited to the spotlight. The extended program includes dance workshops at Zeppelin-Realschule and Friedrich-Wöhler-Gymnasium, which sustainably promote direct dialogue and joint learning among young people from both nations.
Background information: The ballet school La Ciotat was founded in 1977 by the Academie de Danse de La Ciotat (established since 1968) together with the local city administration and has been representing the highest dance quality within the framework of the town partnership for decades.
