It is also evidenced by winning the German Blues Challenge and nominations for various blues awards and the German Record Critics' Award. With dedication to the old bluesmen from the Mississippi Delta, Bad Temper Joe effortlessly transports the often disbelieved blues into the 21st century – and with all the qualities that define blues at the highest level: excellent songwriting, strong sense of tradition, captivating performance. BTJ also makes waves internationally. In 2020, he was the only European act to reach the final of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA.
