Description
For almost 2000 years, Christian theology has been concerned with the question of how the two Testaments relate to each other in the one book called the Bible: What significance does the Old Testament have for us Christians today, what of it is still valid and binding and what is not - and why? How do we deal with the (apparent) content differences in the two main biblical parts? And what understanding do we have of the eternal God, who is the main person in both Testaments?
We explore these essential questions for our faith and way of life by examining the following thematic areas as examples:
1. The image of God: Is God in the OT a punishing God of vengeance and in the NT a forgiving God of love?
2. The law: What validity does the Old Testament law have in New Testament times and in our present?
3. The blessing: What is the content, meaning, and use of blessing in the biblical tension arc from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22?
The course is theologically profound and at the same time generally understandable - intended for all who desire a deeper understanding of God and the Bible. Source: www. weiterbildung. swiss
