Art’n’Voices from Gdańsk presents Christmas a cappella singing from Poland, inspired by mystical stories of the sea and the baby Jesus in the manger. Awarded at international competitions across Europe, the music of the vocal ensemble Art’n’Voices from Poland takes you into a unique and touching sound world full of emotional depth. In the program "Christmas at Sea" (Weihnachten am Meer), traditional Christmas carols are performed in new arrangements, along with specially composed settings in a unique sound. "Leise rieselt der Schnee," "Carol of the Bells," Polish melodies, as well as moving a cappella music by Polish avant-garde young master students like Marek Raczynski and Anna Rocławska-Musiałczyk, the ensemble's director, evoke the mysticism of dark winter nights, the sound of the sea, the cawing of seagulls, and the magic of Christmas musically. You will also hear works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Arvo Pärt, and Sting. Art’n’Voices was founded in 2010 in Gdańsk and has established itself internationally before expert juries and delighted audiences. Upcoming concerts will take the group, among others, to Bayreuth, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Chamber Music Hall of Deutschlandfunk Cologne, and far beyond the borders of Europe to Australia and the USA.
