Artist Talk: Ulrike Ottinger

Two strong artistic personalities, a moment of encounter in Berlin: In 1978, Maria Lassnig captured filmmaker Ulrike Ottinger and her friend Tabea Blumenschein in a portrait – now on display in the exhibition 'Maria Lassnig and Edvard Munch. Flow of Painting = Flow of Life', to which Ottinger also contributed a text. Almost fifty years later, Ottinger presents her new film 'Die Blutgräfin' as part of the Zurich Film Festival. The perfect opportunity to engage in conversation with her: about her memories of Maria Lassnig, artistic visions, the environment in which both operated, and what remains of this encounter to this day.
