Arnd Schimkat MAKES LAUGHTER *Berlin Premiere* - Arthur Senkrecht Explains Comedy!

Description

LAUGHTER: Why we laugh, what makes us laugh Starting from autumn 2026, one of the most exciting actor-comedians will step onto the stage again – and he has a confession: Comedy is no coincidence. It is a craft. And he is a master of comedy. Arnd Schimkat, also known as Arthur Senkrecht, takes you behind the scenes of laughter, humor, and comedy. What happens when we suddenly burst out laughing? Which levers are secretly being pulled – technically, psychologically, highly manipulative – so that we cannot help but burst out laughing? But is that possible? Laughing and understanding at the same time why we laugh? Sure! Schimkat demonstrates it. And then he reveals. Because he is not only skilled – he is an expert. Analyst. Accomplice. Does that sound less fun? Not at all. Once you understand how comedy works, you will never laugh the same way again – but more heartily and more. Astonishing, intelligent, generous, never vulgar, and definitely funny: Arnd Schimkat's stage program "LAUGHTER MAKES" is based on his book "LAUGHTER MAKES – The Secret Rules of Comedy," published in June 2025 by blond-Verlag. ARND SCHIMKAT
Hilarious, uninhibited, charming in his own way, and full of humor from his little toe to the top of his hair – that is Arnd Schimkat aka Arthur Senkrecht. He has perfected the high art of comedy in and of itself. Trained in Paris at the legendary Jacques Lecoq Theatre School and in New York at the Actors Studio, he didn't just learn to laugh. He dissected it, distilled it, and brought it to mastery. Film, television, thousands of stage evenings, award-winning scripts, a novel. Eleven countries. And a press that has long since capitulated: "So funny that the audience laughs tears" (Süddeutsche Zeitung), or: "The fleshification of comedy" (Münchner Abendzeitung). He has already delighted a million-strong audience and is currently playing a leading role in the Grimme Award-nominated ZDF series "Schlechte Menschen." He won the Perrier Comedy Award with his solo show, the Grimme Award with the WDR show "Zimmer frei!" – and today he teaches what others only suspect: the dramaturgy of comedy, among others, at the Munich University of Film and Television. This man knows his stuff when it comes to making people laugh. And tonight, he will show it to you too. https://www.arnd-schimkat.de/ Additional information:
