LECTURE BY PAVEL ZATLOUKAL FROM THE SERIES MAGIC FLUTE: EUROPEAN AND MORAVIAN ARCHITECTURE AND GARDEN CULTURE OF THE 18TH AND FIRST HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY The Enlightenment rediscovered what antiquity emphasized so much, the care for health and also bathing in life-giving springs. An extraordinary boom is experienced in the 18th and 19th centuries not only in spa culture but also in its architecture, which represents a model of the ideal environment. Alongside one English example, we will travel to the West Bohemian spa triangle and also to Northern Moravia.
