After its successful premiere, the interdisciplinary theater project "Kybeles Töchter" returns to the stage of ufaFabrik on April 17, 2027. The production combines acting, dance, music, and cinematic storytelling into an emotional journey that connects mythology with the questions of modern humans and invites the audience to a profound personal reflection. Inspired by the book "Awaken the Hero in You" by author and director Arda Eşberk, the project is based on his developed Cinedrama approach—a transformation method that combines the universal language of cinema, creative theater, mythology, and archetypal psychology. The focus is on the question of how stories can inspire people to shape their own life paths more consciously and enable inner change. The namesake of the project is Kybele, the Anatolian mother goddess. For millennia, she has symbolized creation, renewal, courage, and the creative power of life. Based on this archetypal figure, "Kybeles Töchter" builds a bridge to eight extraordinary women whose life stories continue to inspire people worldwide: Jeanne d’Arc, Frida Kahlo, Coco Chanel, Manal Al-Sharif, Rita Levi-Montalcini, Maya Angelou, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Kara Fatma. They come from different countries, cultures, and eras—and yet they are connected by their courage to overcome societal boundaries and effect sustainable change. But "Kybeles Töchter" does not just tell their stories. A significant part of the ensemble consists of women from various cultural backgrounds, many of whom have never performed on stage before. During a several-month creative process, they engaged intensively with the historical personalities and connected their experiences with their own life stories. This results in an authentic staging where art and personal experience merge in a special way. In a time marked by wars, migration, societal polarization, loneliness, and the search for identity, the production invites the audience to look at their own lives. Possible questions include: What is my goal? What prevents me from achieving this goal? And am I ready to take the main role in my own life? The piece does not provide ready-made answers. Instead, it opens a space where each visitor can find their own answers. "Kybeles Töchter" is therefore much more than a staging about significant women in history. It is a universal story about self-discovery, hope, resilience, and the courage to consciously shape one’s own life. Inspired by Berlin’s cultural diversity, the project brings people of different backgrounds together on one stage and makes the connecting power of art tangible. It reminds us that societal change always begins with the willingness to change oneself. About Cinedrama Cinedrama is a transformation method developed by Arda Eşberk that combines the universal language of cinema, creative theater, mythology, and archetypal psychology. The core concept is "The Hero’s Journey," serving as an artistic and psychological framework. Stories are not only told but experienced as mirrors of one’s own life journey. The goal is to support people in discovering their inner resources, overcoming obstacles, and unfolding their personal potential. About the Arda Esberk Academy The Arda Esberk Academy, based in Berlin, combines art, education, and personal development in interdisciplinary projects. Based on the Cinedrama approach developed by Arda Eşberk, it creates theater productions, educational programs, and workshops that connect film, theater, mythology, communication, and archetypal psychology. The academy’s educational offerings include further training in Cinedrama, acting, and creative drama, as well as seminars on communication, personality development, meditation, mindfulness, and yoga. The goal of the academy is to accompany people through art in unfolding their creative potentials and fostering dialogue between different cultures. About the director Arda Eşberk is an author, director, and founder of the Cinedrama approach. In his interdisciplinary work, he combines theater, film, mythology, and archetypal psychology into a holistic artistic concept. For many years, he has been developing projects that connect personal development with performing arts. Since 2019, Arda Eşberk has lived and worked in Berlin. He is the author and director of the theater project "Kybeles Töchter." With his translated book "Awaken the Hero in You" and the developed Cinedrama approach, he creates artistic spaces where stories inspire people to consciously shape their own paths, discover inner resources, and initiate personal change processes.
