Apollo 10½: A Space Age Adventure

Description

«Stanley is the youngest of six siblings and grows up in a suburb of Houston in the 1960s – a world where seemingly every father works for NASA and the race to space is still seen as a shining promise of the American dream. A miscalculation with the first manned rocket (it's too small for adults but just the right size for Stanley) leads to his secret recruitment. However, most of the film revolves around the unsupervised joys of an analog childhood: phone pranks, spirit board games, and kickball in the street until dinner. It's relaxed, engaging, and surprisingly charming at the same time – a beautiful, quiet ode to a bygone world.» (Leah Greenblatt, Entertainment Weekly, Apr 2022) «The Apollo mission was a monumental milestone. It seemed worthwhile to view it from the perspective of a child taking out the trash and playing with friends. Weaving a small story around such a monumental achievement seemed fun.» (Richard Linklater on goldberry.com, Dec 2022) Contributors and additional information: Director: Richard Linklater Screenplay: Richard Linklater Cinematography: Shane F.
