"Funded by the Initiative Musik and the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media "BKM" Angelika Express – Punk music saved their lives. Moving out of Cologne: after about 25 years, the flagship of the Rhineland indie underground has vanished deep into the Bergisches Land. Between industrial ruins and sheep meadows, they now cultivate their art of hard rocking: in Solingen, the ringing city, where harsh punk rock, sweet melodies, and strange songs are appreciated. All of this echoes in a powerful form from the twelfth album with the disarming title PUNKMUSIK HAT MEIN LEBEN GERETTET. Eleven new Angelika-typical anthems that are super catchy, very accessible, and pleasantly crazy. And perhaps even more energetic and direct than before. Maybe it's because the brave band was shaken by fate, suddenly facing existential questions of life and death? The power trio around the tirelessly creative singer, guitarist, and painter Robert Drakogiannakis is no longer to be ignored in the German-speaking underground. Annick on bass adds distinctive harmony vocals to the aggressive pressure, while drum monster Tscherno levels everything fixed in place. PUNKMUSIK HAT MEIN LEBEN GERETTET comes out on vinyl in September and will be extensively presented on stages across the country from October.
