Description
World premiere / Presented by Badische Neuesten Nachrichten The wonder of nature: The cycle is a choreographic work for 4 dancers exploring poetic parallels between Vivaldi's 4 seasons and the phases of the female cycle. Both follow a recognizable structure, yet each new version unfolds a new physical experience. The mix of precision, humor, and emotion creates a tension between natural rhythm and control, between what we know and what we feel. Just as the seasons recur each year and surprise us at the same time, the body follows familiar patterns that remain deeply unpredictable. This work by choreographer Anat Oz from Tel Aviv follows a continuity: the exploration of repetition and structure. Vivaldi's 4 seasons set the conceptual and atmospheric framework, each linked to a phase of the female cycle; the dialogue between Vivaldi's music on one side and the female bodies on the other creates moments of resonance and tension and opens up a broad dramaturgical space. The dance language oscillates between subtle transitions and abrupt changes, allowing stages of intimacy, chaos, and communal synchrony. It interacts and provides a space where individual and shared experiences intersect. The Cycle invites you to encounter the natural rhythm of the body, without shame, without judgment or condemnation. It offers a nuanced view of vulnerability, transformation, and cultural interpretation, surrounding the cyclical female body.
