Melancholy & Hardness Nordic melancholy meets progressive soundscapes and healthy hardness: the cult band Amorphis comes to Pratteln with their unique mix of melodic death metal, folk, epic melodies, powerful metal anthems, and atmospheric sounds. On the "Borderland Tour 2027," the Finns will present their latest album. Insomnium and Unto Others are opening. Since the 90s, Amorphis has been one of the most influential bands in their genre. With albums like "Tales From The Thousand Lakes" or "Queen of Time," they have continuously developed their unmistakable sound, combining powerful riffs with profound lyrics often inspired by Finnish mythology. Fans of demanding, modern metal sounds will be well served here. On the current tour, Amorphis will present their newest album "Borderline," created in collaboration with Danish producer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Epica, Evergrey, and others). Esa Holopainen says: "Amorphis has a distinctive sound and a very own way of making music. Six strong personalities in the band naturally bring their own challenges to the production process—especially for the producer. Jacob was chosen for several important reasons: he has already worked with a remarkably diverse range of artists and is an incredibly calm, creative, and inventive producer." The result sounds fantastic. Band boss Esa Holopainen seems to never run out of brilliant melodies. Metal1.info writes: "The first association with 'Borderland' is joy of playing: when you hear these songs for the first time, you immediately see the euphoria in the faces of the musicians working on these songs, playing riffs, solos, choruses, bridges, and more. That Amorphis dares to experiment with one or two things greatly enriches 'Borderland,' but more importantly, the Finns have rethought the familiar: Amorphis sounds unmistakably on 'Borderland'—and yet sometimes more melodic, sometimes more powerful, but overall more gripping than recently." The Metal-Hammer critic awards the highest grade and concludes his review as follows: "This band sounds more Finnish than the Finnish national anthem and will soon be declared a national cultural asset."
