Dirty, cheeky, and full of upheaval – that was the jazz culture of the 1930s, and it still is today, as The Killin' Jivers prove! This jazz is not only for listening but especially for dancing and laughing along. With role models like "Slim and Slam" from the jazz comedy and "The cats and the fiddle" from vocal street jazz, The Killin' Jivers bring jazz back to the stage and don’t take themselves too seriously. We look forward to an energetic and entertaining evening in Winterthur! Lindy Hop is a partner dance that originated in the 1920s in Harlem, New York. Lindy Hop is mainly danced to swinging, groovy jazz music and is considered the father of Rock’n’Roll and Boogie-Woogie. The Altstadt Swing takes place four times a year at the Alte Kaserne Winterthur and is organized by the Swingscouts Winterthur. The next event on January 22, 2027, offers a crash course and a live concert celebrating the jazz culture of the 1930s.
