Bears, carp, sunflowers, or grandmothers – the mental gymnast Alfred Dorfer brings them all to the stage in his new solo piece "GLEICH" and tells a story with numerous narrative and temporal digressions. But "GLEICH" is more than just a collection of characters and quirky moments. It is an engagement with reality, a piece that raises questions and repeatedly makes the audience doubt. Are we allowed to take what we see at face value? Or is this cabaret one-man show just a fiction spun by Dorfer that subtly holds up a mirror to us? In his new solo piece, the satirical one-man theater called "GLEICH," Alfred Dorfer, as known from him, elegantly and quickly switches between the most diverse characters. In "GLEICH," a story is told with numerous narrative and temporal digressions. Are we allowed to take what we see at face value? The time levels blur into each other, as do poetry and wordplay, philosophy and fantasy. In the German-speaking world, the satirist with a penchant for socio-political topics is unique with his characteristic form of presentation. A pantomime and acting training benefits the Viennese. With sympathetic sovereignty and much self-irony, Alfred Dorfer, as a keen observer of our everyday life, takes societal currents as a rhetorical Brother Lightfoot to task. He plays with his audience amusingly and skillfully. Nothing and no one is safe from his unexpected trains of thought. The mental gymnast Alfred Dorfer is legendary for his bitter humor and ruthless gaze and has found his personal style through a characteristic form of presentation, which many consider incomparable. Jury members of the German Small Arts Prize, the German and Bavarian Cabaret Prize, who awarded him just as well as the Swiss Cabaret Prize Cornichon, shared this opinion.
