Description

In 1922, Alberto Giacometti moved to Paris – a step that fundamentally changed his artistic work. In the French metropolis, he encountered the ideas of the avant-garde, engaged with Cubism and African sculptures, and developed new forms of sculpture. The tour follows Giacometti's experimental creative phase in Paris – from breaking with his early work, through iconic pieces like "Femme Cuillère" (1926/27) and "Tête qui regarde" (1928), to his inclusion in the circle of Surrealists around André Breton. The tour is led by art educator Sarah Jacky.
