Description
As part of MONO:MONO German, English surtitles We are not alone. An alien has been sighted. It seems to be searching for its home and making contact with others of its kind. Mysterious events and a trail of destruction follow. An FBI agent takes on the case and investigates amidst the conflict between science and the paranormal. But as she investigates the creature that threatens to change society, it suddenly becomes an observer itself. An evening of theater between Akte X and the fear of the stranger - full of mystery, action, and humor. Whose story is this? Whose perspective creates reality? The Doris Crea Collective ventures into the science fiction genre in this monologue to challenge the practice of othering from at least two perspectives. They play with prejudices and projections and in the corners of total observation. While the narrating agent reaches the limits of her perception and truth, an alien becomes a witness, sometimes a suspect, and finally stares back in disbelief. The dialogue of gazes explores what we perceive as foreign. Because the true unknown is most often not out there somewhere, but almost always within ourselves.
