Seven-time winner of the British Blues Award, Dom Martin, has often been compared to Rory Gallagher. Both hail from Ireland and share the same musical roots, with Rory always being one of Dom's musical heroes. Dom frequently incorporates some of Rory's songs into his sets as a tribute to one of the greatest guitarists of all time. In 2023, Dom was invited by Joe Bonamassa to perform a set of music by Rory Gallagher at the Mediterranean Blues Cruise – much to the delight of many fans. Rory's family also invited Dom to come to the auction at Bonhams in 2024, where all guitars and amplifiers were auctioned off, and asked him to play a set of Rory Gallagher's songs to celebrate his legacy. There, Dom had the opportunity to play some of Rory's guitars and described that moment as magical. This inspired the idea to create a new project that honors the music of this legend. The name 'A Taste of Rory' by Dom Martin was chosen to reference both Rory's solo work and his years with Taste. So get ready for this celebration of legendary music – played by one of the best.
