6th Swiss Samichlaus Synod

Description

The Swiss Samichlaus tradition is diverse and creative, but one thing is common to all events: they bring together people of different ages. At the center is the historical figure of Nikolaus of Myra, a bishop of the heart for over 1600 years. His name is programmatic: Nikolaus means "victory of the people." With him, sharing and solidarity are emphasized—valuable goods for our society, especially in the current context.
Countless men give Nikolaus (Samichlaus) their unmistakable face year after year. They and their teams are passionately committed to the Samichlaus tradition. They visit families, schools, and kindergartens, building bridges between generations, nations, and confessions. They provide a valuable service to the cohesion of our society, giving the message of kindness and humanity substance.
The 6th Swiss Samichlaus Synod aims to network those involved and set new impulses for the campaign on-site. Encounters, workshops, experience exchanges, and the ceremonial procession into the parish church are on the program.
