6th Engadine Architecture Days: Living Differently?

Description

The Engadine Architecture Days are entering their sixth edition, under the title "Living Differently?". Housing in the Engadine is scarce and increasingly expensive, second homes displace potentially permanent residents. Current projects and initiatives for affordable housing provide an opportunity to explore how affordable housing can be created in the Engadine. To what extent does political action need to be taken? What are the potentials of bottom-up initiatives? What social and housing forms with this goal exist? What requirements do collective housing forms impose on architecture? The focus is on cooperative housing, which has a long tradition in cities and has proven its worth. But the alpine region also has such a tradition of collective organization and sharing with alpine, dairy, and cheese cooperatives. Can this be transferred to housing? On the Architecture Days, initiators and architects from the Engadine and Swiss cities share their positions, ideas, and experiences.
