3rd Advent Concert: Dagmar Pecková

On Advent Sunday, December 13, 2026, enjoy a concert by Czech opera singer and mezzo-soprano Dagmar Pecková with piano accompaniment. The concert will take place at 7 PM in KD Střelnice. The program will feature Advent songs, biblical songs, and songs by Kurt Weill. Treat yourself to an evening of quality music and an amazing atmosphere. Dagmar Pecková (1961) is one of the most prominent and recognized figures in the Czech and international opera and concert scene, a world-renowned mezzo-soprano, a voice without borders, and the founder of the Zlatá Pecka festival. She is a recipient of the Thalia Award in the opera category for 1999, the highest regional honor – the Award for Merits to the Pardubice Region (2021), the highest award from the upper chamber of the Czech Parliament – the Silver Medal of the Senate President (2022), and a state honor – the Medal for Merits of the 1st Class (2024). She was born in Chrudim and studied at the Prague Conservatory. Throughout her successful 45-year professional career, she has performed on the most significant opera stages and concert platforms worldwide. She has repeatedly appeared at the most prestigious global festivals and collaborated with highly respected orchestras and conductors around the globe. She has released more than thirty albums with Supraphon, Hänsler Classic, Teldec, Warner Music, and Naxos, and holds three gold records from Supraphon. For her, art is not just a performance but a challenge for reflection, education, and inner growth. She perceives the musical world as fascinating yet demanding and harsh. In 2017, she founded the Zlatá Pecka music festival in her hometown and serves as the main artistic guarantor not only of the festival but also of projects that support young instrumental and vocal talents. She is also professionally and successfully engaged in drama on Czech stages. For her role as Maria Callas in Terrence McNally's play Master Class, she received a Thalia nomination for drama in 2022. Playwright and screenwriter Marek Epstein wrote the play Milena for her. She continues to dedicate herself to opera and concerts not only as a singer but also in spoken roles, finding another form of artistic expression. She is now also focusing on chanson and the interpretation of songs by Kurt Weill. In 2024 and 2025, she published two authorial books with Kazda Publishing – Ty vole se neříká (which she also recorded as an audio version) and Tanec mezi vejci. Duration of the performance: 70 minutes.
