21st Berlin Railway Festival at Bahnbetriebswerk Schöneweide - Railway to Touch for the Whole Family

On Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, the historic Bahnbetriebswerk Schöneweide will open its gates for the 21st time for the big Berlin Railway Festival and invites train fans of all ages to celebrate together. The Berlin Steam Locomotive Friends e. V. will display more than 40 locomotives and cars, including steam locomotives of classes 03, 35, 52, and 74. Historic locomotives and cars will be available for photo sessions in front of the locomotive shed and in the outdoor area. Railway to Touch Everyone can take a turn as the train driver and look at locomotive boilers or the massive engines of modern locomotives. Those who prefer to watch the driver at work can ride a bit on the cab of a diesel or steam locomotive. During the tour through the large locomotive shed, visitors will learn everything about the locomotive workshop from grandfather's days. Currently, a steam locomotive from 1944 is being restored there. There is a model railway exchange in the locomotive shed. Children can ride the field railway in the outdoor area. In the historic dining car and beer garden, hearty food from the kitchen and grill is available. Admission (ticket office at the event location): Adults 12 euros, children (6 to 14 years) 5 euros, families (2 adults and up to four children) 30 euros. Opening hours Saturday 10 am - 6 pm, Sunday 10 am - 5 pm. Ticket prices in advance sales plus advance booking fees. Reduced admission only for children aged 6 - 14 years. Children under 6 years are free. No further discounts. The best way to reach Bahnbetriebswerk Schöneweide is by S-Bahn (S 46, S 8, S 85, S 9). From S-Bahnhof Johannisthal, you can walk directly to the railway festival via the pedestrian bridge. Parking spaces are (almost) not available. Additional information:
