Description

Jakob Bohnstengel is not only good-looking and popular, but he is also completely satisfied with himself and his life. One day, when he helps his mother at the market, he mocks an old customer because of her appearance. However, she turns out to be the fairy Kräuterweis. As punishment, she kidnaps Jakob and transforms him into a dwarf with a long nose and a hunchback. In captivity with her, he learns the art of cooking and meets the talking goose Mimi, with whom he befriends. When the two escape, no one recognizes him anymore, not even his own mother.
Despised as ugly by everyone, he doesn't know where to go. But because of his excellent cooking skills, he is employed at the duke's court. When he is asked to prepare a special pâté for a mysterious guest, he realizes that the secret ingredient can do much more than just taste good.
