Watching Migratory Birds in Gurnigel

Description

Millions of birds head south in autumn. On their journey, many cross the area around the watershed in Gurnigel. The Gantrisch Nature Park is known as a concentration point for bird migration and Gurnigel is even a so-called "Important Bird Area".

This impressive spectacle also offers hobby ornithologists and laypeople the chance to observe rare species, such as the osprey. The event attracts bird specialists from all over Switzerland. The two nature and bird protection associations Seftigen/Buzrgistein/Uetendorf and Steffisburg are on site and record migratory bird activity this weekend as part of EuroBirdwatch.

Come to the upper Türliboden parking lot this weekend and watch the passing birds together with ornithologists. The experts on site are happy to give valuable observation tips and exciting information about all bird species.
