How does nonviolent civil resistance succeed against regimes in one's own country or foreign occupation compared to violent uprisings? The foundation and starting point are the books by Erica Chenoweth and Maria J. Stephan: Why Civil Resistance Works (English 2011, German 2024) and Civil Resistance: What Everyone Needs to Know (English 2021). An important question repeatedly arises in this context: What can prepare nonviolent civil resistance and what happens afterward? How can a community be formed that endures beyond the resistance?
