Ethio-Jazz meets London sound: ZENA – the duo of keyboardist/producer Yohan Kebede (Kokoroko) and bassist/producer Menelik Mulugeta Claffey – brings the traditions of Ethiopian music with a contemporary, electro-soulful twist to the Gannet on November 4th. Between Ethio-Jazz, alternative R&B, trip-hop, and dub, the two create a mystical, unorthodox sound that pays homage to legends like Mulatu Astatke and Hailu Mergia while looking forward. With their debut single "Anchi Bale Gamé" (Brownswood Recordings) and the upcoming EP TEMESGEN (March 20, 2026), ZENA continues and rewrites the golden age of Ethiopian music.
