In his impressive lecture "90 Jahre Dalai Lama – 35 Jahre Fotografie" the renowned Swiss photographer takes us on a personal journey through the life story of the 14th Dalai Lama – told with unique images, moving anecdotes, and well-founded knowledge. For over three decades, Bauer has documented the public work and private life of the Nobel Peace Prize laureate. The Dalai Lama has allowed the Swiss photographer to work in his immediate environment and to be present even when the doors were closed to others. Bauer accompanied the Dalai Lama to countless countries around the globe, was present when the Dalai Lama spoke to 300,000 pilgrims or trained privately on the treadmill. An unique, intimate portrait of an extraordinary personality has emerged, deeply touching and providing insights into the history of Tibet, Tibetan Buddhism, and the political challenges of exile.
