Writing Workshop with Hendrik Otremba

Description

Hendrik Otremba, a writer and lecturer in Creative Writing, guides a modular exercise called Fragments: In the writing process, breaks are repeatedly made on a topic, a question, or a feeling, providing new impulses that lead to new writing approaches. What sounds abstract becomes clear through practice: fragments of a small narrative are created in various writing modes and connect with each other. This provides impulses for experienced writers and those who want to try writing. In other words: Everyone is welcome, no prior knowledge is necessary. The number of places is limited to 20 people. Contributors and additional information: Hendrik Otremba (*1984 in the Ruhr area) is a writer, visual artist, and singer of the group Messer, with whom he has toured extensively since 2010 and released six albums. His solo debut, Riskantes Manöver, was released in 2023, alongside his first poetry collection, Wüstungen, Nebel. He works at the University of Zurich at the German Seminar as a lecturer in Creative Writing. Since his literary debut, Über uns der Schaum (2017, Verbrecher Verlag), he has published three more novels: Kachelbads Erbe (2019, Hoffmann & Campe), Benito (2022, März Verlag), and most recently, Der Gräber (2026, März Verlag).
