In September, the mountain world around Braunwald shows its most impressive side. During the red deer rut, the deep roaring of the animals fills the remote Durnach Valley, making this short time of year a special natural experience in the Swiss Alps.
Together with hiking guide Gabi Aschwanden, you will experience the red deer rut in a calm atmosphere – away from everyday life and off the beaten paths. Price for wildlife observation

Meeting point is at 1:35 p.m. at the valley station of the Braunwald cable car in Linthal.
Together we travel to the Durnach Valley and start the hike from there.
The ascent takes about 1.5 hours and covers approximately 500 meters in elevation. Once at the top, there is time for wildlife observation and a small aperitif.
In the evening, return hike and return trip to Linthal.
Arrival at the Braunwald cable car around 8:15 p.m.

The wildlife observation of the red deer rut takes place on September 21, 2026, in the Durnach Valley. Participants meet at 1:35 p.m. at the valley station of the Braunwald cable car in Linthal and hike about 1.5 hours to the observation point.
