Description

The Aargau Country-Rock band Westwood has been around for 30 years. Brigitte, Roger, Paul, and Jonas used the Corona break to revamp their entire repertoire and practice many new songs. They also brought in the experienced keyboardist Uele. The five still maintain a good mix between traditional songs and new country hits, all wrapped in a fresh and modern sound. The heart of the band is Brigitte with her great and expressive voice. The beat comes from drummer Roger, who also actively supports Brigitte with his wonderful voice in the choruses. Jonas, a bassist through and through, along with Roger, provides the driving and thumping foundation of the band and the third voice. Guitarist Paul delivers the captivating drive and catchy solos with his background as a rock guitarist. Keyboardist Uele perfectly completes the band with his catchy and varied sounds and great rhythms. A new band is born! Everything is new – but all built on the band's long-standing experience. It all started in 1994 when Westwood took 2nd place at the country competition in Albisgüetli. It was the band's first concert, and they made a big impact right away! Many performances followed, both in clubs and pubs, as well as on large stages like in Interlaken or at Albisgüetli Zurich. On their three released CDs, the band presents their wide musical spectrum with great enthusiasm. But what the five love most is standing on stage together and playing live. It is always a great thrill for them to be able to excite the audience with their contemporary country-rock – whether they are die-hard traditional lovers, bikers, line dancers, ballad lovers, or fans of R’n’R and solid rock music – all in the spirit of: Live is Life!
