Description
The novel revolves around a crisis-ridden present and the dangerous power of repression. In the reading circle, the new release is discussed in a relaxed setting, moderated by Germanist Roland Lötscher and bookseller Sarah-Mee Filep. "Nothing leaves Jot, in his mid-fifties, to chance. His entire existence is focused on planning and control. - At a company that sells bunkers to the super-rich, he has found the perfect job and has also prepared for emergencies privately. But then he encounters a dead body during his running routine, and his carefully constructed safety system begins to crumble. A highly topical novel about fears and insecurity in our crisis-ridden present, as well as the power of repressed feelings" (Hanser Literaturverlag). Julia von Lucadou, born in 1982 in Heidelberg, lives in Lausanne, New York, and Cologne. She is a doctoral graduate in film studies and studied at the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel. The book should be read before the event and can be purchased at Rössli Bookstore. Moderation: Roland Lötscher and Sarah-Mee Filep, maximum 15 participants.
