Description
Breath and body awareness are inseparably connected: When we are afraid or stressed, our breathing often becomes shallow and rapid. When we get startled, we hold our breath. Conversely, calm, deep breathing has a soothing effect on our nervous system, and the body relaxes. Accordingly, breathing exercises as well as speaking and movement exercises help to calm oneself in anxiety situations. Such exercises are demonstrated, mindfully guided, and practiced in the four-hour workshop with the certified and experienced breathing therapist Irmgard Haupt – with the goal of standing in everyday life with more calm and composure afterwards. Maximum 15 participants. This event takes place as part of this year's Wenkenhofgespräche, which considers fear as a social topic from social, political, and psychological perspectives.
