World Hits in Hessian - We're Back Again

Description

Hessian is the language of love and poetry. Elis C. Bihn and Tilman Birr have recognized this. Now they translate world hits from the last 140 years into Hessian and sing them to you. Why do they do this? Well, you wouldn't understand otherwise! Anyone can write new lyrics. But who can translate "I come from a land down under" so that it fits Hessen and still doesn't distort the original? Only these two mood linguists with bass, guitar, and two voices. Sometimes the originals have nothing to do with Hessen, but as Prime Minister Georg-August Zinn said in 1950: "Hesse is who wants to be Hesse." And even if we don't know whether John Lennon, Prince, and Elvis Presley wanted to be Hessian: now they are.
