This musical theater production tells the story of African Wax Prints and their cultural and economic significance in Africa. It follows the lives of two brave women on West Africa's coast navigating global markets amid political upheaval, colonial structures, and inequalities. The story is enriched by a transnational ensemble from Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, D. R. Kongo, and Switzerland, inspired by traditional storytelling and featuring a chorus of three women. The piece offers a poetic journey through centuries of trade between the Swiss textile industry and West Africa, highlighting colonial history and cultural exchange.
