Description

Based on the novel by Mariana Leky — Play "One of the most delightful books of recent years!" Mariana Leky sets the big themes of love and death in a small village. The best summary of the situation is given by the narrator Luise herself: "I am twenty-two years old. My best friend has died because he leaned on a not properly closed regional train door. Whenever my grandmother dreams of an okapi, someone dies afterward. My father believes that one only truly becomes in the distance, so he is traveling. My mother owns a flower shop and has an affair with an ice cream café owner named Alberto. The optician loves my grandmother and doesn't tell her. I am training to become a bookseller." This explains Luise to a young Buddhist who unexpectedly appears in the village — and is about to "turn the whole extensive life" upside down...
