Meeting point: Museum entrance The tour tells the eventful history of the wall painting fragments by Basel artist Ernst Stückelberg (1831–1903), which have recently become part of the collection of the Museum Kleines Klingental. Originally, they decorated the Erimanshof at Petersgraben, Stückelberg's residence and artist's house. When it was demolished in 1937 for street widening, the paintings were cut from the walls and stored in a municipal depot – where they remained forgotten for decades. Only in 2023 were they rediscovered at the Museum Kleines Klingental during a special exhibition. Today, after a long journey through the city and time, they have found a new home in the monastery kitchen of Klingental – an impressive example of how 'history moves' and is literally moved. Guided tour: Daniel Schneller, Director of Museum Keines Klingental
Price: CHF 10.–/7.–
