After two years on the road with the neo-classical band Spark for their joint album "Visions Of Venus," it's time for WALLIS BIRD to give her own and especially the new songs an exclusive stage. For WALLIS BIRD, the private is political: With her seventh studio album, the musician returns to the stage and takes her audience on an intense, comforting, and powerful journey through personal and collective experiences of loss, hope, and humanity. Created in an old farmhouse near Berlin, the album is a warm, open work about grief as an expression of love, about community, and about the courage to not look away in a torn world. Live, WALLIS BIRD combines her captivating energy, expressive voice, and intimate stories into concerts that touch, awaken, and connect: "For me it’s important to experience the people and the areas I play, that’s what gets me excited." WALLIS BIRD has always pursued her path consistently and has been making music since she can remember. At two years old, her father gave her a guitar. Her distinctive sound is due to her creativity but also her fate: At one year old, her left hand was caught in a lawnmower, and all fingers were cut off. Four can be reattached. Therefore, she plays a right-handed guitar, reversed, without the little finger. Her pieces blend elements of rock, punk, traditional Irish folk, and jazz, all topped with her impressive, rough voice. With her musical power, WALLIS BIRD has received several international awards, including two Irish Meteor Awards (national Irish music award) and the German Music Authors' Award in the Rock/Pop category. Her unstoppable energy on stage is one of her trademarks; even the Irish Times once noted that "she could boost the economy of an entire country with her energy." WALLIS BIRD, an artist full of love, soul, and empathy, lives with her partner in Berlin, surrounds herself with like-minded people and friends in her art, and has built her career independently from the start.
