Description

Vivi Belini basically makes "sad funky soul music" with her band. Introspective, honest lyrics and powerful melodies meet pulsating, earthy drums, blues- and funk-inspired guitar riffs, soulful keys, and groovy bass lines. The songs combine influences and ambitions from soul, pop, funk, and indie without committing to a specific genre. In her music, Vivi talks about life and its transience, identity, and grief, but always with a big handful of hope and resistance. The first EP "Time" was themed "existential crisis, but make it groovy" and made that the program: ruthless honesty and a sound that still – or especially – makes you want to dance. Biography & Band Vivi originally comes from Berlin, moved to Rome at 18, and after many stops, found her new second home in Switzerland over 10 years ago. Her band is equally international and rooted in various genres: Sven on guitar with a great love for blues, rock, and pop; Timothy on drums with roots in jazz, hip-hop, and fusion; and Stefan on bass from jazz, big band, and pop backgrounds. Together, they bring Vivi's compositions to life in their shared signature style.
