Description
On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966), the MCBA offers a guided tour around the artist's works present in the 'La collection' route. Since the exceptional long-term deposit made in 2015 by a private collection, the MCBA is the public institution in French-speaking Switzerland that holds the largest collection of sculptures by this key figure of 20th-century art. His birth anniversary is an opportunity to present to the public a selection of works now visible in the permanent exhibition. Among these works are notably Grande femme III (1960) and a bust of his wife Annette (Buste d’Annette X, 1965), two major creations by the artist, demonstrating the culmination of his research on human figuration.
