Description
With "Espace de vie," Vincent Loup transforms the attic of the Propstei St. Peterzell into a walkable field of experience. At the center of the exhibition is the question of how we perceive, use, and give meaning to space. The Western Swiss scenographer and visual artist develops his works based on existing places and their atmosphere. He understands space not only as an architectural condition but also as a social and cultural resource. Who owns space? How do we deal with it? What ideas and conflicts are associated with it? For the exhibition, the attic of the Propstei itself becomes the starting point of the artistic work. The white exhibition walls, which have shaped the space for many years, are deliberately dismantled, revealing the original architecture and the raw, unobstructed character of the attic. This makes the exhibition space itself part of the staging. The artist's installation work unfolds like a three-dimensional painting and invites visitors to perceive the attic of the Propstei from unusual perspectives.
