When stable objects dissolve into becoming, the flow turns into a flowing, the forest into growth. Anna's artistic work is about establishing a relationship with this flowing and growing. The circular traces of her work "Herrgottsbeton" on the Necker are delicate and gentle – on some days, they are visible only to those fully attentive, on others, they almost disappear into the weather world. "Herrgottsbeton" asks what kinds of attention and care connect us with the place, allow us to see and hear ourselves. Can we listen to the river and its sediments and bring the Herrgottsbeton to sound through our listening? How does listening change what sounds? In this year's field work on "Herrgottsbeton," Anna Maria Fink and Katrin Kremmel invite us to create a "Listening Field" together. With our voices – through our breathing, ringing, and singing – we want to leave invisible traces that already fade away at the moment of their creation. Down by the river, we practice listening and hearing, sensing what is heard and what is sounded. There, on the Necker, between Nagelfluh and concrete, we practice simultaneity and resonance through the immaterial culture of listening and singing. Studio ERBA: Collective Belly
In Bütschwil, there is the "collective belly" – an artwork and natural storage for regional food, which we will ceremoniously inaugurate together on October 10. Here, artists, farmers, animals, plants, and microorganisms work together to develop site-specific aromas and flavors. Inspiration for the artwork comes from old cellars and ripening chambers once used collectively in the Alpine region. Thus, vital practices for preserving and refining food were developed, along with unique flavors. These have been passed down as embodied knowledge through generations.
When we process and taste food together today, we connect not only with the landscape but also with our shared history. It lives on in our experiences and shows that we can all develop a fine sensitivity for when the time is ripe.
