Description
Valentin Macke's live show recounts his adventurous journey starting at age 21, traveling east through Turkey, the Caucasus, Iran, Pakistan, and India, then returning by bicycle through Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, and Russia. His story highlights encounters with nomads, truck drivers, and Taliban, emphasizing human connections over distances. He sleeps in snow caves, on trucks, in temples, and even on a construction site in Dubai, relying on the kindness of strangers. His journey is filled with danger and unpredictability, from getting lost in Myanmar's jungle to being surrounded by armed men in Balochistan. Despite these challenges, local people often come to his aid, illustrating the power of openness and human kindness.
