Description

The solo parts are entrusted to four internationally renowned artists: Nino Michaidze (Soprano), Julia Gertseva (Mezzo-soprano), Mikheil Sheshaberidze (Tenor), and Carlo Colombara (Bass). The choir parts are performed by the singers of the Coro Lirico di Lugano, the Coro Calliope from Locarno, as well as other choir members from the French-speaking Switzerland and neighboring Italy, who will occupy the seats available on stage according to safety regulations. The voices are accompanied by a large orchestra composed of professional musicians from the region and from renowned Italian opera houses, including Teatro alla Scala. The musical direction is led by Maestro Andrea Cupia, a conductor of great musical and human sensitivity, who has been leading the Coro Lirico since its founding. This masterpiece combines the spirituality of liturgy with bursts of intense drama and expresses the deep contrasts of the human soul.
