Description

Beethoven knew that even in a simple theme, countless possibilities lie. As a master of variation, he transformed familiar melodies with wit, imagination, and formal freedom into something new again and again. His early "Gassenhauer-Trio" op. 11 and the late Trio op. 121a "Kakadu" demonstrate this art in very different ways.
TRIORARO takes this idea into the 21st century. The starting point is a catchy tune of our time with "He’s a Pirate" from "Pirates of the Caribbean." Eight Swiss composers have taken up the theme and developed their own variations. Which ones will be played and when is decided only at the concert: the audience determines the order and reassembles the musical kaleidoscope with each performance. This way, the familiar becomes unexpectedly new again. Participants and additional information:
