In 2026, Ulan & Bator celebrate their quarter-century anniversary! This is not only to be observed but danced, sung, and played! With a colorful anniversary evening featuring favorite numbers, well-known and unknown classics, forgotten and unforgettable small and large odes, as well as delicacies of a different kind. According to their own statements, Ulan & Bator operate in a kind of cut-up system "theater in the form of jazz with the expression of comedy." They let their various influences from spoken theater, television and pop culture, sketches, comedy, music, and dance work side by side in a "freely floating associative madness of the Western world." Ulan & Bator combine elements of theater, music, comedy, dance, improvisation, and wordplay in their work. Their trademarks are two bobble hats that allow their wearers to enter the realm of fantasy and wild associations on stage. They use only two chairs as props in their performances. Furthermore, except for a lighting change at the end, they refrain from using staging means such as sound clips or projections.
